Nice barn, looks to be in good working order. Surprised to see there are no lightning rods on a big barn next to a huge tree. Looks like it is time to get out the tractor and cut the lawn.

Beautiful barn!

I love barns and barn wood.  There is a reason financially (?) why barns are red... I remember reading it recently on some trivia.  Cheaper paint?  Not sure why red would be cheap. 

My grandfather's farm all the barns were red when I was a kid.  I think we have more white barns in Ohio than I remember from Wisconsin.

Rob, Excellent example of  barn red. Red is my favorite of all colors, and red barn has charm for sure.

Love the barn. It looks to be in good shape. Just think, something well cared for can give good service for a long time.

Barn red is just as classic as white house paint. For many years, barns were red and houses were white. :)

Rob - Some clever people are taking the wood from old barns and having it refinished to use in the floors of high end homes. A lot of the wood in barns is oak, and some of the wood I remember was 2x10 oak planks. I can only imagine what it's worth now.

I always enjoy your old barn photographs.  Craftspeople do need to keep lead paint risks in mind when selecting old materials.

Rob, you sure do always bring us mighty fine photos of the different Barns, that you come along. Most of the Barns that see up in this here area are brown. Back home the Barns were always Red.
