Virginia is a business haven

Hey...live long enough and maybe you can get CONNECTED.

Paul Logan, my friend since he was a baby, earned his way to be the deputy press secretary for Virginia's Governor Bob McDonnell.

Somehow I've got to figure out how to take credit for that.....

But for now, Paul posted the findings of CNBC's
exhaustive study of each state in the US to determine which one is the best home for business.

Virginia is a business haven

In tough economic times, Virginia has trimmed a 2 Billion dollar deficit to get on the right side of the balance sheet and our unemployment rate is around 6%.

We are attracting the nations top employers and Virginia continues to be one of the easiest, least red tape states to be an entrepreneur and start a business. However, we still remain an aesthetically beautiful place to live.

Virginia is a business haven
Seldom do you see any Virginia official from either party doing something really stupid...we are a very sane people and possess an excellent state government.

Many states with brutal real estate and business taxes are losing jobs
and population to us. So come on!

Not only do we have mountains, beaches, wide open beautiful country, and some of the nation's top historic sites (Williamsburg, Jamestown, Appomattox, Mt Vernon, Arlington, Alexandria, Manassas Battlefields)...we have JOBS and more are coming every day.

Virginia is a business haven

So bring yourself and bring your family to Virginia.

We are hospitable, we understand business and we also know how to preserve our heritage and natural beauty.

Andy, work here and retire here...or of course Houlton, Maine :-)

Bill, we are not a state of extreme swings. Common sense rules in most things.

Gerry, I grew up in PA and love the people. You guys will come back. I was just in center city Philadelphia for the first time in 20 years and the rejuvenation and cleanliness is in stark contrast to the old days.

One thing I have noticed in PA and NY is that when you guys do road repair, some lanes can be closed for 15 miles for weeks, with one little pothole and no men working. That would NEVER happen here. We can buld a new cloverleaf in the time it takes other states to re-pave a 4 mile stretch.
