Business Planning

It is coming up on that time of year again when we should all start thinking about business planning for 2008. Several things have occurred to me as I begin think about this process.

  • Most people don't take business planning seriously (if that do it at all)
  • Even the ones who do it, don't do it correctly or don't keep up with it threw the year
  • Business planning is more then a number I want to big home in the next year
  • it's about a budget, running your numbers backwards so you know what it takes everyday to get to that number you what to bring home
  • it requires checking that plan at least once a week to see if your on track.

I'm very guilty of not doing this the right way. I did this amazing business plan for 2007, however I didn't look at it passed when I completed it. So guess what I absolutely did not meet my goals. So I am going into a class in about 30 mins for business planning. I'm hoping this makes a difference. If anyone has any suggestions on how to stay true to what you put on paper I would love to hear them.
