I have to mop up my database which means this is my Pre Fireworks and Picnic Project for the next few days. I always have a project a day but this one is going to be a doozy.
It is fish or cut bait time. I switched to an iPHONE which means my antique database is out the window i.e. inoperational since it no longer syncs with my new iPhone.
Glub, Glub.
Top Producer 8i imported a few decades worth of data. There had been preexisting duplication errors.
Uh oh.
I experimented with a few other programs but realized very clearly I require the extensive support that the 8i Folks give for their product. I also want all the new bells and whistles like Facebook and Twitter Integration on the Contact Screen. I love, love the 8i CMA Product. The list goes on.
It has been really difficult to make this HUGE a daily change in how I operate my business. But I have made this biggest move of all which is decide to JUST DO IT this week.
Granted, I would like in an ideal world to get Outlook working with my iPAD and iPhone via MobileMe until the iCLOUD comes out in the Fall but with no Outlook support, many major glitches, and another Fall Change when the iCloud arrives, it just is not a reasonable course of action. Plus, there are no notes and no gizmos and well, enough said.
The only thing good about this Pre Fireworks and Picnic Project, because it is a major overhaul of DATA, is that it will be fun to talk to all these FARM a.k.a past clients, family, friends, coworkers and colleagues to invite them for Fireworks and FUN.
Anyway, I put more time into planning these steps than can ever be imagined, so here are the directions I am going to repeat a few hundred times the next few days.
Boy, will I be glad when the Hams go in the oven and the Potato Salad goes on the table and the Guests arrive. Until then, here is my Database House Cleaning Project as I mop up the database after the 8i export....FINALLY!
