Does It Work To Renew Your Mind

Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Results 20344949

Yesterday I posted a blog in the morning titled: Today Is Going To Be A Great Day! This was coming off a week where I had a negative vibe going. Something I don't fall into much, but it does happen time to time.  I just did not snap out of it as fast as I liked.

I wrote the post in part to encourage myself and to have in writing that I needed to RENEW my mind and think of the GOOD things that could happen that day instead of all the things that could go wrong.  I am aware a lot of people look at what is going to go wrong and find all kinds of faults in others and in their situation.

RENEWING of your mind is a skill that can transform your mindset.  The skill of RENEWING your mind comes from a combination of reading, writing, and possibly praying and meditating of the higher spiritual things of life.  Don't get religion confused in here, we are looking for the truth of the spirit that points us to the highest and best way of living and being.

Yes, RENEWING your mind is a skill that you have to practice daily. The practice is not hard work - you just have to spend time doing it and start TUNING in to the Divine that wants to be a part of your life!

Back to yesterday.  It turned around real fast. I had a closing that FOR SURE seemed to be head for a multiple day delay that did a 180 turn and closed.  I had one short sale offer accepted that was probably going to be challenged by another offer if the seller waited.  I heard that I might have another offer surprisingly accepted, and got a new good potential buyer customer.

There were a couple things that I might have even considered negative happen, but I quickly looked at the situations and saw that the change may be better for all concerned and called the situation(s) a blessing.

I am not new to this kind of mental and spiritual work, but it helps to remind me and others of how well the RENEWING of your mind DAILY does work!

I enjoyed your positive post Chuck!  The older I get the more I realize that our happiness and positive attitude is based on how we choose to react or accept things that happen me.  Things happen - good and bad - and they don't necessarily happen "to us" they just happen.  Forcing our minds to be positive and think good thoughts even when we are having a bad or negative day can turn things around for us.  I believe in renewing our mind and positive thinking 100%!  P.S.  Have an awesome day!

Chuck, this is a good idea. I do this but it doesn't always change things just the way I regard the things that are happening.

Chuck, keeping a positive frame of mind takes a lot of diligence, it's so easy to slip into the negative, that we have to constantly be aware of our inner dialogue and not allow it to happen.

Maybe its just karma?  I go through the same thing.  It happens.  I try to take a step back, breath deeply, and stay away from real estate related stuff for about 24 hours.

Great point, and I totally relate.  I think the phrase, 'renew your mind' comes from Romans 12:2, at least I don't know of an earlier source. " transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

Thanks Chuck

Knowing that God works all things out for good, to those that trust Him and are called according to His purpose helps me to renew my mind, along with being in His word daily and in prayer.

Rejoicing Always in Christ, crucified and alive forevermore!
