Independence Weekend - Post Game Fireworks Shows
North Hills Family Celebration
Saturday, July 2
North Hills will celebrate Independence Day with a Children's Bike Parade, Watermelon eating contest, apple pie baking contest, carnival games, beverage tents, street performers, and patriotic music. It's a great way to celebrate the 4th of July with family, friends, and neighbors.
Garner's July 3 Celebration featuring the NC Symphony
Sunday, July 3
Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Road, 5:00-10:00 pm
Annually, Garner and its neighbors come together to celebrate our nation's independence on July 3rd at Lake Benson Park! Gates open at 5pm. Enjoy musical entertainment from Liquid Pleasure followed by the North Carolina Symphony, playing a rousing patriotic program. Children's inflatable games are available from 5-8pm. Local nonprofit groups will sell food and other refreshments. The evening concludes with a spectacular fireworks show at 9:30pm. This celebration is FREE to the public.
Shuttles available from Byran Farm (1832 New Bethel Church Road) beginning at 5pm.
Handicap accessible parking is located at Lake Benson Park.
Monday, July 4
The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department and the North Carolina State Fairgrounds present the 2011 July 4th Celebration. Families and friends are invited to enjoy a day of food, fun and entertainment.
Activities include sports challenges, American flags, craft activities, jumbo games, mini-golf, obstacle courses, and mountain bike course.

Fireworks 9:45 pm
Admission, parking and activities are FREE of charge. No pets, alcohol or coolers will be allowed.
Joel Lane Museum House Independence Day Celebration
Monday, July 4
The Joel Lane Museum House, "The Birthplace of Raleigh," will sponsor its annual Independence Day Open House on Monday, July 4, 2011 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Colonel Lane was a founding father of North Carolina's capital city and an officer in the Wake County militia during the American Revolutionary War.
This FREE event will feature re-enactors who will demonstrate various aspects of colonial life, and visitors will be able to participate in chores such as churning butter and carrying water in buckets. There will be old-fashioned crafts and games for the children and lemonade for all. The garden in its full summer glory will be on view, and herbs from the garden will be for sale.
NC Symphony Summerfest at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre at Regency Park, Cary
Monday, July 4
Join us in celebrating our nation's 235th year with patriotic favorites and the Triangle's biggest fireworks display. This FREE event includes a performance by the Cary Town Band followed by the North Carolina Symphony. Kids activities, ice cream eating contests, picnicing and fun abound at the annual holiday event! Fireworks immediately following the concert. Gates open at 3:00 pm and parking is free but limited so come early!
Town of Apex's Olde Fashioned Fourth

Kids of all ages come to historic downtown Apex for an Olde Fashion 4th of July Celebration! There will plenty of patriotic fun as we celebrate our nation's birthday. There will be carnival games, cake walk, inflatables, climbing wall, giant slide, clowns, jugglers, karaoke by Skid Rowe, and much more. Follow that up with Uncle Sam's Parade of Wheels at noon, then cool down, as the Apex Fire Department knows how to do best, at the Splash Down!
Town of Holly Springs Independence Day Celebration
Tuesday, July 5
Womble Park, 1201 Grigsby Ave, 5-9:30 pm
Join us the day after Independence Day for this traditional celebration of America's birthday. Admission is FREE.
Festivities will include musical entertainment, food and inflatables for the kids in addition to the fireworks.
The fireworks show is slated to begin at 9:15 p.m. unless the threat of rain forces cancellation or time change. People are not allowed to bring their own fireworks, even sparklers, to the celebration.
The Holly Springs Police Department will lead a bike and wagon parade around the baseball fields. Kids can decorate their bikes at home or use materials that are provided.
