This just happened to me too and I am on the DNC list. I'm starting to think solicitors don't even check the lists because I get soooo many of these calls. Then they hang up on you mid sentence when you remind them you are on the DNC list and NOT to call.

This happened to an agent in Texas:
A few minutes ago I received a call from a long distance number that I did not recognize. It was from 925-983-3400. It was from a gentleman who called himself "Nate." He said he had a "lead" for me... and asked if I still worked the Fort Worth area.
Just from the sound of his voice, I sensed something. So... right off the bat I asked him if he had a single lead for me, of if he was a "lead-selling" company. Oh no, he said... this is an individual lead. I was in the middle of doing something for a client, and had to call the client back immediately, so I asked "Nate" to call me again in about fifteen minutes. He agreed.
I immediately got online, and Googled the number... 925-983-3400. It turns out it indeed IS a lead-selling company. It is called Reply ! Inc, and is located in San Ramon, California.
I then started reading all of the articles on the first page of Google... and one after another was a story from a dis-satisfied customer of theirs who had signed on to purchase leads, and then, after feeling that Reply ! Inc was not delivering what it promised... the customer then cancelled.
One of the Googled articles recommended to either steer clear from Reply ! Inc. One even suggested to remember the number, and when it showed up on caller ID... to not even take the call.
So... there ya have it ! My brief... very brief experience with Reply ! Inc. The very first question I asked "Nate" when he called... was whether he was giving me a single referral, or if he was from a "Lead-Selling" company. He denied he was with a leads company... which meant he answered my first question... with a lie. Not a good plan.
So... I offer the above information to all my Active Rain friends. If 925-983-3400 calls... proceed with caution.
