Wide Open Fields in Wyoming by Robert Swetz

Open Fields of wild flowers in Wyoming by Robert Swetz 6-27-2011

As I drove 1700 plus miles from northern Minnesota to Las Vegas Nevada I couldn't help but notice all the Wide Open Space.

I have traveled this route many times through my life and what a beautiful country we Americans live in. And when ever I see endless fields of flowers, sage brush, trees and more I always remember so many words from many different people. Words like "we have a over population" ... "we have to many people in this country" ... "Blah-Blah-Blah!

There are to many people in many cities across the United States of America! But as much traveling as I have done in my life all I ever see Wide Open Space.

Kevin Costner's words in the movie "Dances with Wolves" which is one of my favorites is ...

I want to see "The New Frontier" and he ends up in South Dakota which is not very far from where this photograph was taken.

This photograph above of open wilds flowers was taken in the beautiful state of Wyoming, and to some it may still be "The New Frontier".

Bob, It looks gorgeous.  With a little pasture rehab, I bet there are some horses who would be super happy to live there :)

VB, that is one Beautiful picture, whenever I see something like that it reminds me of Amber Waves of Grain in the song America the Beautiful.  Now back to your brother, don't get me wrong, I love Vegas, but why would he move from Wyoming with scenery like that plus the mountains, etc...?  Just curious.  I am sure to be closer to the great VB!!!

Have a happy 4th in Roswell!!!  Don't get abducted by the Extra Terrestrials.

Hello John and my brother moved from northern Minnesota because he needed a change and was sick of the long cold winters and me calling him in the long winter days telling him I was hiking in 70 degree weather.

I am sorry to say I canceled my trip to Roswell over the 4th because I just spent 4 long days driving a HUGE U-Haul truck across the country. But it's a NEW MOON tomorrow and VB is headed to AREA 51 because it will be clear skies and very dark. Which means ... "Funny Lights" in the skies!

Hello Carla and you were born in a very beautiful state!

Hello Bob: Thanks for sharing this beautiful photo. It's truly a beautiful scene.  I love the wide open space that is hard to find in the Bay Area.  We had driven about 2000 miles so many years ago from northeast Ohio to California, almost across the entire nation, and Wyoming was one of the states we drove across.  We stopped and took some photos as well, but yours is truly a breath taking photo. Thanks again.
