This 4th of July Weekend Make Sure It's a Safe One

Please Buckle Up.

This brilliant and moving video captures the true essence of the importance of seat belt use. Please buckle up folks.

About a thousand years ago, when I was in my late teens, and before seat belt use was mandatory, I was the first person on the scene of a deadly accident.

I won't go into the details, but suffice it to say that I saved two people's lives that night... Two other people didn't make it.

They probably would have if they were wearing seat belts.

It was from that moment on that I have worn my seat belt each and every time I get into my car.

And I won't even put my car in gear until all my passengers are safely buckled up.

So this weekend when you go out to celebrate our nation's birthday, please remember to put on your seat belts.

If you've not seen this video, I suggest you view it now. It's brilliantly done and truly captures the essence of the importance of seat belt use.

Please Buckle Up.

Hey Laura, thank you for deeming my post worthy of a re-blog. I've always found that the sincerest form of flattery one can achieve here in the Rain and for that I thank you.

Have a great 4th of July weekend! And buckle up!

Hi Laura - Sad reminder of what shouldn't happen.  Seat belts save lives.

I saw this UK video a long time ago, when it first came out and loved its powerful message. Written and directed so much from the impact of the family Laura.

Wouldn't think of driving or allowing anyone to ride any other way Craig.  I too came upon a horrific accident.  Fortunately both involved lived.  It would be irresponsible not to pass this message forward, especially as beautifully as this video gets it across.  Thank you for taking the time to put this blog post together and share it with all.

You too have a wonderful 4th of July weekend.  I hope you are getting some time with those you love.

It is Conrad, but such an important reminder.  I just saw a whole van full of children riding down the road with no seat belts on recently.  People still don't take it as seriously as they need to.

Powerful, amazing, and beautiful Gary!  It definitely makes the message embed itself.  Craig finds and shares some amazing things on his post.

Hi Laura - Van full of kids with no seat belts is not good.  How about our school buses with no seat belts?

Oh Conrad, don't even get me started on that issue!  I cannot for the life of me understand the incredibly tough laws we have about car seats and booster seats, then our children are left to fly through the air on a school bus!  Terrifying to me! especially when my little girl was in Kindergarten and only weighed 35 lbs.
