It seems that, as with anything in life, we are not happy when we get what we ask for--the especially cold, dry Tampa winter lead to the hot, dry Tampa area spring that has now turned into a rainy summer. When it was cold we wished for the heat, when it was hot we wished for a breeze, and with the small drought in Tampa this year we prayed for rain! Well the rain has been here for over a week now. Now we are looking at the clouds wondering, "when will the sun peek through again?" 
So it is true in the Tampa real estate market. The height of the 2005-2006--the "HOT" days--brought much business right along with too many agents who didn't know what they were doing, not following through and giving the hard workers a bad name. Also those young families needing a starter home couldn't afford one.
We wished for change and we got it! In 2008-2010 there were those "COLD" dry days where homes were sitting stagnate, unsold and untouched. Although this hurt, as does the storm, it leveled the playing field and weeded out those unknowledgable, uncaring agents.
Now here we are in 2011, the sky has opened up and the rain is falling. Housing prices are at a number that young families can afford and investors are loving; interest rates are low enough to move up to that better neighborhood and the supply of homes is flying off the market. The sun is starting to peek through the clouds and yet so many are just not happy--chasing that next rainbow.
As Agents we need to wake up and realize that the change in the market was to our benefit and needed to happen--just as the heat, the cold and the rain. As long as we are PASSIONATE and MOTIVATED to keep up with OUR industry, follow through with our clients and be THE expert for our sphere in real estate we are on our way to that Pot O Gold. Changing the way we did or do business is not a bad thing. We need to think outside of our boxes, step out of our comfort zone and become the real estate professional that people want to and will call!
