Florida’s Rocket Docket ended Thursday June 30. Florida had allowed the state courts to hire additional staff and bring back retired Judges to handle the backlog of foreclosure cases. Due to budget restraints the state legislature did not fund the program for another year. This leaves the Florida courts with an estimated 300,000 of foreclosure cases and more to come.  One Circuit Judge said “We’re jammed up and that logjam want fade soon.”

This backlog across the country is hindering the nation’s broader economic recovery. Until the housing crisis is solved many believe the economy will not recover.
