Get more out of Floor Duty!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Blanchard and Calhoun

I'm sure everyone enjoys floor duty or opportunity time. You sit there for 2 to 3 to 4 hours waiting for a phone call. Some Realtors catch up on their paper work while other simply try to stay awake.

We need to spice up this time. Engage the customers, go where they are, the Internet. We need our websites working with us. The technology is there. Your site needs Virtual Floor duty. We all know as Active Rain members, the products and smart people are in place to make this a reality. I have seen other sites in other industries do this. home depot's website had a message box pop up on their site. The customer service rep. was asking how they could help. This started the dialogue. I found it helpful.

All companies and agents are looking for that point of difference. Here it is. We are also looking for leads, quality leads, here it is. This tool could help you secure more buyers and sellers. The sellers would love the aggressiveness of this tool. The Buyers would also like the help in navigating your site.

Now it is up to you and me to make it happen. I need to make it happen on our Augusta Georgia site. You need to get your broker to change their site. Show them what is happening out there in The Active Rain World. They will be amazed. I also encourage you to have your own site with these same features. Lets change floor duty and the way we do business. Embrace all the changes that are happening in our industry, In the long run you will be happy you did

Tom, we certainly do have the technology.  We have something similar to what you are talking about on our website.  Please feel free to take a look at www.baconbaysden.com.  If you have questions please let me know.  We just had this website designed for us recently and I was amazed at what can be done these days.

Hey Tom,  This concept is HUGE, I emailed it to my team leader and I hope we can make it work effectively.  If 83% of home buyers first surf the net for homes, we should be able to tap into that thru our Companies  websites and our personal ones.  Offering Real Time Live HELP is awesome.  GREAT IDEA.   Gail in austin.

I've taken floor duty into the 21st century-my agents don't do any.  By way of virtual office they can get faxes, phone calls, email etc. without leaving home.  Their calls go to them, either their cell or extension-it works great and they love the freedom.

The tricky part is to get the agents to join AR.  I've even invited agents not associated with my company and they have no interest in joining.  Unreal.

Jennifer it's amazing how some agents won't take advantage of the technology thats out there

Tom,

I work everyday to make some changes to where I am on the Internet.  I know it will pay off.  Active Rain has been a great source to assist me in improving myself and my sites.

Continued success!!!!

Can I request that whoever is on floor duty receives any email inquiries directly during the floor hours?  Of course, this would be for inquiries directed at the listing office.
