Local Christian School Goes Digital
Grace Christian School of Raleigh, NC (located near Cary Crossroads) recently announced plans to roll out their "E4 Technology Initiative". Beginning August 2011, each Grace Christian Student grades 5th - 12th will have use of a Mac book laptops for school and home. Use of the Mac books will equip students with current technology to accelerate learning. Lower grade classrooms will have SMARTboards in the classroom for interactive teaching. Teachers and Staff will be fully trained to integrate digital learning into the classroom and school enviroment and Tech Support will be provided.
These days, so many kids have better personal technology than what they use at school. They often teach themselves how to use the latest and greatest technology and are usually leaps and bounds ahead of the technology they're saddled with at school, which can make it difficult to begin a project or homework at one location and transfer it to the next. Grace Christian has taken large strides to get in front of what the kids are doing on their own and bring education to a new level.
If you think about it, there are very few jobs that don't require you to have some basic computer skills. Even Real Estate has changed dramatically during the computer age. Why would we continue to teach our kids the same manner in which we learned?
Grace Christian School will be Leading the Education Community into the Future with their E4 Digital Learning Initiative as many other schools cut back on technology, teachers, and Services.
The Grace Christian website states the goal of the E4 Initiative is to Embrace technology to better Engage and Empower students to Excel as lifelong learners.
