Don't Fence Me In

Home Inspector with JRV Home Inspection Services, LLC HOI 394

I don't know about anyone else, but constraint, restriction or limitation sure doesn't sound like much fun to me. We all need freedom to roam about and do what makes us feel well and happy (so long as we're not infringing on somebody else's happy thing). Independence Day or as we have come to call it, the Fourth, is about we American's celebrating shedding the restrictions of our freedoms.Unrestricted view

Even though America has been an independent nation now for 235 years, we must always be vigilant of restrictions on our freedoms, for it is an unending process. Every one of us can and should look out for our neighbors.

My job as a home inspector is to look out for my clients. Yes I am paid to do so, but as with any task, it my personal decision, my freedom of choice that decides how well I perform that task. Extend that ethic to every day life and we are all the keepers of our own, as well as our neighbor's independence.

The men who founded this country saw inequity in how their neighbors we being treated. They spoke out, they organized, and they fought for what they felt was right.

It's not about fireworks, it's not about, barbeques, it's not about driving a Hummer, to me freedom is about listening to the wind murmur through the cottonwood trees....

Too many holidays are lost as to the true meaning. Most have become just another way to sell this or that.

Nice pot, although cottonwood trees are a pain in the butt when they are sending out the seeds! You sure it isn't laughter instead of murmuring?

Great post James ( really).  When overseas in the 60's I thought about the fireworks, barbeques, and relatives and friends enjoying all of the aspects of a true American holiday.

Oh, by the way, you can have the 2 40 foot cottonwoods I have in the back yard.

Mr James,

You are not being truthful. I has talked enough to you to know that it is ALL ABOUT BARBECUE in your small little world.

Richie, Freedom to me is doing what you like.

Sharon, I confess the title was borrowed :) I thought it appropriate for the Holiday.

Clint, Thanks, hope you had a good one too.

Mike, Isn't that most important? Freedom of choices.

Andrea, Thanks, happy you think so.

Peter, As do I and my two girls.

Than, It could be laughter. That would be good too :)

Brian, Thanks, hope you enjoyed your holiday.

Charlie, As good a reason as any.

Lisa, Thanks, Hope you enjoyed yourself this Holiday.

Jay, Yep, I believe it will.

Jack, Thanks. When you are far away from home, I bet holidays figure prominently in your thoughts.
