Steamhouse Lounge in Midtown Atlanta obviously got lost on it's way to the ocean. What I mean is, this is the kind of seafood restaurant you expect at an oceanside resort. The kind you would find the locals hanging out, shuckin oysters and drinking Bud Lights.
Instead, Steamhouse Lounge is located in the middle of Midtown Atlanta, in the shadow of 30+ story buildings. It relocated to Midtown Atlanta after the "city fathers" of Buckhead decided to shut down the over rowdy Buckhead Village area after some unwanted crime and much vocal complaints from neighboring residents. Steamhouse Lounge was one of those sort-of casualities but they landed on their feet with this location in Midtown. It's a longer walk from some of the Midtown Atlanta Condo Communities, but never fear, valet parking is near.
I have to admit, I've never made it past the Lobster Bisque. Period. It's all I've ever eaten in this restaurant. I mean, it's soooooo good, I swear I'd like to jump in a bowl and swim in it. (Ok swimming in lobster bisque may not be your idea of fun but do you get the point?)
Creamy tomato base with a kick of spice, loaded with chunks of lobster, and served with a side ceasear salad....."Heaven...I'm in heaven...."
Steamhouse Lounge is NOT at the beach. They have an outdoor patio complete with a rock garden waterfall as well as the upper level balcony/porch that wraps around the front of the building.
If I could SEE an ocean, or a beach from that upper level balcony.....you'd have to come find me here every day. Altho, if I ate lobster bisque every day I might need a wheelchair to get around.
Lobster bisque at Steamhouse Lounge Midtown Atlanta. This is as good as it can get.
