When you live in the big city you often times have to give up some of the amenities that you get in suburbia. We may not have large yards that can accommodate lounge chairs and flower gardens, but we know how to make the most of what we've got.

Praful - I used to live in Queens as well, lovely borough

Cheryl - When I lived in Queens I had a terrace where I grew tomatoes in a plastic bucket. They were great.

Charles - I thought they way they arranged things was very interesting.

Dede - Yes the window box is cool.

Michele - You are so right. I don't have any outdoor space right now, but I've got plenty of green spread out around the house.

Elaine, I love the "ornamental grillwork" on the windows! You don't see much of that outside of New York.

Patricia, most major cities have them because the "ornamental grill work" is good for a lot of things. It supports flower pots, it supports air conditioners, and on occasion it supports home security efforts. I love objects that multi-task.
