Eating Healthy Tip

Real Estate Agent with Better Homes and Acres

What a beautiful weekend we have had so far and today when I woke up it wasn't quite daylight but the birds were already singing.

What I want to share is a very simple tip for eating healthy.

I recently read somewhere that it takes approximately 20 minutes for the signal to reach your brain telling you your stomach is full. So it is possible to eat to the point of over stuffing yourself if your wait for that signal.

Years ago I discovered this by accident while eating pizza.

Ya know how sometimes you just get so hungry you think you could eat the WHOLE pizza? But really you certainly cannot....

So, pay attention to your taste buds.

The first piece of pizza tasted SO incredibly good......

so I took another.....

The second piece of pizza tasted OOOOOOOO KKKKKKKKKKK

and I took another.....

The third piece of pizza did not taste near so good......

in fact, I can hardly finish it , it is beginning to taste awful  ....

Lesson learned, don't take the third piece....

Eat only while it tastes oh so very good and you will find that you don't overstuff yourself.

Also, ban the rule of you must finish everything on your plate....

If it isn't tasting great anymore STOP eating....

Thanks for sharing --- They say you are suppose to eat very slow --- I eat fast and usually way too much.  Have a great day.

That's a great tip for some situations, but my issue is eatting the chips sitting around during a party.  I am not full, I am not hungry. . . I am just socializing and it seems fitting to eat while I talk!  guess there's always something to deal with when it comes to over eating!  Thanks for your post - happy 4th of July!

That's great advice, Marilyn!  I am certain I had entirely too many foods with excess salt and sugar in it over the 4th of July.  It has taken a couple days to get it out of my system and begin feeling normal once again.  I'm old enough to know better. . .LOL

Thank you for your comments. I guess I don't overeat often enough for it to be a problem and I eat slow and I am picky about how my food is prepared and the temperature and and and!!!!! I love food!
