I have this listing in Eden Islesin Slidell Louisiana. I have this house priced very well for the area. I have had several potential buyers go through the house. Problem is I keep hearing the same thing. The clients all prefer the higher ceilings instead of the lower ceilings in this house. Not much I can do about that is there? I just hope someone loves the view of the Oak Harbor Golf Course and buys it.

Who is walking in that extra space, it is being heated and paid for. The higher cealings cost more to build...extra materials, 2x6X10s instead of 2x6x8's cost more. Yes it makes the house look bigger and I think that is what is selling...but it is waisted space...it's the illusion....

Someone recently asked me the following question about one of the older condominium buildings on the beach. This complex was built in the early 1980's, and as you know high ceilings were not a big deal then. Most were just average 8-9 ft ceilings... 14 stories height. Not like the newer condos built in the past few years with 11 ft ceilings. The question asked by the potential buyer: "Have they raised the ceilings in that older condo yet?" ...........
Hmmmmmmmmmm... yes, of course, they jacked up every floor about 2 feet higher than originally built... are you kidding me??? haha Just one of those questions where "no" is the only fair answer.
