Have A Happy Safe And Sane July 4th of July.

Real Estate Agent with REALTY EXECUTIVES TUCSON ELITE DRE# SA113961000

Happy Safe and Sane July 4th of July.

My opinion is that the average public doesn't need to mess with fireworks.

And in Arizona they were all illegal until this year. Thanks to our idiots at the capitol, they legalized a lot of different types.

Then the city had to ban all private fireworks due to the extreme fire danger in our entire state.

One forest fire alone burned over 840 square miles. That's square miles, folks.

And that was no doubt a human caused fire, as are most fires around here. Fireworks are just an unwelcome addition to the mix.

So, go to the public displays and enjoy yourselves. Don’t drink and drive. Have a good 5th of July too!

Fire is so unpredictable, and so thorough in it's destruction. I bet those laws change again before next year!

Dear Jon,

The local dry conditions and threat of fire caused us to skip our fireworks this year for the first time in ages.  Better safe than sorry - I'd hate to be the one who caused a fire!  And - I did want to get to a safe 5th!

We did just what you said - watched the city display.  I even got a couple of photographs of the fireworks and posted them! It was fun to try!

Have a happy day -

I spent the day with family where we all celebrated our blessings and enjoyed the quality time together. The only fireworks we experienced were those in the pit cooking burgers and dogs.

We have had our share of fires here in California. Vertually all were caused be humans, too many fireworks related. I am not bothered by the ban. The cheap fireworks at we can buy are nothing in comparison to the public displays. The children will likely remember the big booming fireworks than the driveway sparklers.

Jon, funny you should post this, I did a Fireworks safety post before the 4th and go figure I was watching the news, cars on fire, car ports on fire, because the "public" wanted to have their own fireworks where it was not permitted...

Jon-They banned public and private fireworks sales and use over the holiday weekend, drought conditions. They've banned them in the past from time to time, but this time, there was 100% following the rules by the people this year in my neighborhood. No firecrakers, M-80s, sparklers. So peaceful and no fires. I must be getting old, I appreciate the quiet, and not standing outside with a hose in case some "citizen" decides to blaze up.

Jon, the little delinquent next door was shooting them off until the wee hours.  Made me crazy.  Made the dog crazy.

With your dry climate I think it's crazy to allow public use of fireworks.  They made it illegal here this year and the firemen were very pleased to announce a big decrease in fire related calls on the 4th.  Like Wayne says, I must be getting old too, because I think we're better off without all that racket and smoke!

I think the average person doesn't need to mess with explosives; but I don't see anything wrong with keeping it simple, i.e., sparklers and just clean fun to celebrate the fourth. I don't need a big production or to shoot off something that looks like bombs bursting in air - that's when I think it should be done by the professionals.

I don't celebrate the 4th anymore because of all the tight regulations and big crowds.

I agree with you, the average person really doesn’t need to mess around with fireworks. Here in Pa. the law is pretty simple. Apply for a permit at least 15 day prior to use and you can buy almost anything you want.

I prefer to keep it simple. A good BBQ, a campfire come nightfall and anyone drinking late spends the night.

Hi Jon,

I agree with your thoughts on fireworks. Stay away and go to public displays where supposedly professionals are handling the dangerous materials..

Thank you for commenting on my blog about Google Chrome. You asked about the " More" button. If you open Google Chrome and start on the left hand side and look for a row of selections that have " Web", "Images", "Videos", "Maps", "News", Shopping", Mail", the last item is more in lower case. Click on more. Then click on Documents which is about 3/4's of the way down. You will need to register but if I rem, ember is not very hard to do. . Good luck.. Another AR member commented that you can use Gmail and I just read because of this + 1 Google stuff we all might need a Gmail E-Mail account..
