Well - I guess the title of my blog is really not correct it will end and hopefully not to the auction.
This has been the most frustrating short sale I think I have ever worked on. It started out better then most- I had a great contact that kept in touch at least twice a month UNTIL I got the first offer and then it seems like all heck broke loose!
To summarize: I got a short sale listing, within 2 months I got an offer, when I tried to submit the offer they told me to wait and not submit it because the loan was going to be sold, after repeated attempts to find out what was going on I was told the loan was not sold after all. I submitted the offer which was already over 1 month old because of the delay of the "supposed sale" of the note, repeated attempts to reach contact fell on deaf ears, after numerous phone calls finally reached the contact who said they did not receive offer!
I resubmitted the offer again, no response for weeks after numerous call, finally received second offer, submitted a full new package ... still no response then today I was calling again to do another follow up call only to hear the message that said "I am no longer with this department please do not leave any messages call this 800# to get an update on your file"
Well - after waiting 40 minutes on the phone I actually got a live person and had to fax the package one more time! I have an auction date next week .. I guess one way or another this deal will be over soon. When I reached "Staci" my new contact she told me my file was not yet assigned to anyone but she would assign herself to the case since no one else seemed to want to work the file. I asked her how many files she was working on and she said she personally had over 1,000 cases she was working! My guess that is why my other contact is not longer working in loss mitigation.
She did seem positive that maybe there was a chance they would take the offer - even with a $251,000 loss! I will keep you updated if they take the deal. If the bank did not give me such a run around for the past 3 months they would have had a better net - since the home has dropped in value at least $60,000 since I started the process!
