SPRING TURNED INTO SUMMER IN WILSONVILLE

Spring finally turned into Summer in the City Wilsonville and the change has been a gradual one this year.  My garden has had a slow start at least two to three weeks behind its normal schedule.  Yet who knows what normal really is, it frequently changes its mind.

This Spring Daffodils came and went, tulips the same, the Peonies were so beautiful and lasted for such a short time,
Roses Blooming and sending out their sweet perfumes and then planting time for any annuals I might add for the summer time.

My tomatoes are growing like mad and beginning to bloom for a Summer harvest, the potatoes we planted are getting larger and my herbs are finally showing life

Spring into Summer in Wilsonville The flower baskets I started from scratch are getting bigger and the blooms are beautiful.  Some baskets are lagging behind for some unknown reason and I am waiting for them to catch up.

Honeysuckle is sweet with fragrance and the hummingbirds are coming around.

The yellow canaries are here along with the grosbeak and nuthatch, eating away and singing their best songs for all to hear.  Early mornings we listen to the Doves and their calls, a great way to begin the day, sipping strong coffee, smelling the fresh air and listening to the music of the birds.  A great way to start my day.

Mary, We went from Spring to Summer in about 3 days it seems like.  It was later in coming, but it is here now.  Very beautiful flowers!

Hello Tony and Darcy,

It is true, Spring to summer in a matter of days.  It is in teh 80s here this week, a little warm for me, but I am not complaining.  Thank you for the compliment on the flowers, they are home grown.  I hope your week is great.  Thanks Again.

Hi Debb, thanks for stopping by.  I do love my garden and when I am working in it and my hands feel the dirt (that is when I take my gloves of) it feels like such a connection.  In the mornings taking coffee out to the back patio and just being is such a pleasure, especially when the honeysuckle decides to share her fragrance.  Thanks again Debb for commenting.

Good Morning Myrl,

Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting. Both my husband and I love flowers and lots of color.  He tends to the Roses and the rest of pretty much mine.

Good Morning Maureen,

Thank you so much for commenting and I am really glad you  enjoyed the photos of our garden.  There is much more although our lot space is not so large only 7500 sq ft.  We pack a lot into it and I try to only have perennials in the ground and annuals in pots with the exception of the front where we have lots of impatience because of their color. Again thank you so much.

Good Morning Patricia,

Thank you for reading the post and commenting, I do love writing and have always known yet did not realize just how much until Active Rain came into my life on accident.  I know there are no accidents really, but I am blessed.  Art of any kind is such a part of my life that sometimes it is hard to separate, so I do not try anymore, I just blend it in.  I am finding that blogging has enhanced my creative side on many fronts.  I hope you have a great weekend.

Mary, our seasons have been so intense this year. They've told us it's too hot for the tomatoes to grow well!

Good Morning connie,

It is hard to imagine that it is too hot for tomatoes when they like the sun so well.  Sometimes what I do when the sun is too intense and likely to burn my plants, I take an umbrella and create shade for them.  Works every time.  It was really hot here this weekend, and today it is cool and cloudy.  I can't figure this weather out.

I love gardening Mary!  Sadly, after selling my 5 acre property, I don't do much anymore and I miss it.  I used to come home from work and spend an hour in my garden, relaxing while watering and weeding.  It was very therapeutic.  Reading your post brought back some great memories!

Good Morning Melinda

Gardening is a great way to relax and find yourself in nature.  I am glad the post brought back good memories, I am sure those memories present a way for you to bring them back at any given time and feel the sense of joy you felt when you were gardening.  Memories have a tendency to do that.  Thank you for commenting.
