YES! Our rental market is HOT!....that does not make it EASY! With the increase in rental prospects in our area, there are MORE inquiries, MORE screening discussions and MORE work for property managers in processing applications.
This ADDITIONAL work is a REAL turnoff for DIY landlords who continue to take the poorer quality prospects who call/inquire FIRST and who landlords think is the EASY WAY OUT! They do not realize that the LARGER prospect pool actually means MORE work NOT LESS because there are MORE rotten apples in the larger prospect pool.
For the PROFESSIONAL property manager, MORE inquires, MORE calls just means that there is a GREATER tenant prospect pool from which to SCREEN and SELECT......it does NOT mean there is LESS work or that steps should be skipped.
