Introducing Home Staging to Owensboro, Kentucky

Home Stager with Designer's Eye LLC

So I started my Home Staging business in Owensboro, Kentucky about 6 months ago and have been surprised to discover how much Owensboro does not know about Home Staging.  There are several shows on television that highlight staging, the benefits and the how-to's, yet there is a only a certain group of home owners who actually watch the shows.  I am always surprised when I have someone ask, "What is staging?" but am always happy to educate people on how effective and affordable Home Staging can be.

So, in an effort to educate Owensboro, Ky about Home Staging, I will be doing hand-to-hand combat.  By this I mean for a llimited time, I am offering a FREE Home Staging consultation.  This will give me an opportunity to talk to clients, establish a rapport with them, teach them how Home Staging can benefit them and that Home Staging doesn't have to cost thousands of dollars.  I want to use this to spread the word about Home Staging and about Designer's Eye.  Since there is no other Home Staging business in Owensboro (other than Realtors), I'm hoping that a little time invested by me now, will produce volumes of business in the future.  This is also a great opportunity for Realtors to get to know me, my business and my work.  I will also be giving a FREE Open House Checklist at each consultation that will help homeowners prepare for showings.

If you live in Owensboro, Kentucky or near Owensboro, feel free to contact me for more information or to schedule a FREE Consultation.  I would love to speak with any Realtors who have questions or to find out how I can supplement your business!

Spreading the Home Staging word,

Melissa Franey

Hi Melissa!  I personally would be leery of offering anything for FREE.  I've found that unless the client is inve$ted in the Staging process, there is little or no follow-through, so the results are very poor.  Are you going through the seller or the agent?  What kind of follow-up do you plan on doing for these free consultations?  Keep us posted!

This consultation is a short, informal meeting which can happen through a seller or an agent and seller.  I will show my portfolio, sample work, statistics and how I can help.  I will throw out a tip or two but will not divulge a Home Staging plan and there will be no follow-up unless I am signed on as a Stager.  I have more time than money right now so for me this is a way to spread the word about my business and market myself.  I guess we'll see how successful it will be.  Thanks for your advice,

Hi, Melissa, you are highlighting the problems we all (well, many of us, anyway, especially the relative newbies like me) have in convincing agents and owners to spend $$ on staging. Please post later on whether you get takers for the free consults and how it works out in terms of generating paid business for you. I agree with Julia, it's a discussion that has been bandied about often here and on the various LinkedIn home staging professional sub-groups, with the vast majority voting "NO" to giving away any free consults, stagings, etc. (other than free estimates for some, which I do)  It's always a conflict between de-valuing our services and educating the un-knowing, un-convinced public and agents, SIGH.
