As I checked todays hot list to keep myself on top of the Murrells Inlet real estate market I could not help but take a look at the oceanfront homes in Pawleys Island that were on todays list. Such a disappointment to see the listing agents lack of photos on these ocean front gems.
No doubt about overpricing here but what is amazing to me is that the owners of the million dollar properties have stuck with the same listing agent since 2007 while it has chased a falling market. What is shocking to me is that in all that time the listing agent couldn't step up the service and hire a professional photographer or at least take more shots and add them to the MLS. After all isn't it a proven fact that homes that have more photos get more views? Is it really that hard to add a photo of the ideal kitchen or perfect master bath?
As a service to my buyer clients relocating to the area I preview and photograph listings on a regular basis because more often than not listing photo's are limited.
I can understand privacy issues especially in the higher end properties but there is no reason to limit the number of photographs since it is easy enough to come up with interior and views that give a potential buyer enough to make them want to make the appointment to come and see more. Million dollar homes deserve more photo's and maybe after lingering a few more months the sellers might take a look at their listing online and decide maybe they deserve another agent to help them market their property after all since online views is where a majority of all marketing begins.
