"A house is made of walls and beams; a home is built with love and dreams."

When we are looking into buying a home, what do we usually focus on? The numbers. The square footage, the cost, etc. etc. But do we ever focus on how the home makes us feel, or the vibe we get from the neighborhood and its surrounding area?

Click to view a 5 minute clip from NBC's The Today Show which will provide you with helpful home-shopping tips. Exclusive info they wont tell you on any website.

An example: if you are viewing a home for the second time, try scheduling it at a different time of day-- perhaps at nighttime if you saw it previously during the daytime. By seeing the home in "a different light", you will get a better feel for the home and neighborhood.

Here are some of the tips that the video will include:

  1. Use Google Maps. This awesome program allows an aerial view of the home, as well as a "street view"
  2. Make friends with the neighbors, they will fill you in on all of the Good the Bad of the neighborhood.
  3. Visit during the weekends. Visit during Rush hour etc. This will help you to gauge the sound level of the neighborhood.

You must remember, when you purchase a home-- you are not only committing to the property, but also to the neighborhood and all that comes with it!
