Discovering Cancun part 2

Cancun is well known for its hotel zone. With beautiful beaches and grand hotels bringing visitors back time and time again. The northern section is known for shopping and nightlife. There is always something to do. What if I want to live in the hotel zone but with a little less vacation feel? The southern area may be a perfect choice. I recently moved to this area to be close to the action but far enough to feel like home. The first morning I woke up early and took a walk on my “new” beach. The few people that were at the shore were smiling and joyful without a care. I had to take a picture or two to share with my friends living elsewhere. And more realistically, I did it to taunt them. The way the ocean meets the sky is so beautiful it looks surreal. Walking on the white sand beach and splashing in the cool crystal blue water. The energy is uplifting and welcome beginning to my day.

Even the drive from downtown Cancun is a pleasure. In those 15 minutes I am transported a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of a busy office. Driving home through the lush palm lined streets brings a sense of peace and tranquility with each passing kilometer. My smile only gets bigger. I call it my decompression chamber. Along the side is a well manicured jogging path. Once an avid runner, the thrill comes back over me. I remember why I use to run. I am excited to put on those running shoes and lose myself with an outdoor run once again.

I enjoy living in the southern end of the hotel zone because it is a little quieter and almost a suburban feel. I actually get to know my neighbors and long term visitors as opposed to passing acquaintances. Therein lies a great little residence development called Lahia. I love the way is stands like a white sand castle with its rounded edges. The architecture reflects the movement of the wind and the sea. The condos are spacious and airy stretching the width of the building taking in views of both ocean and lagoon. The grand sliding doors open wide to allow for the ocean breezes to flow freely throughout each unit. Inside the units boast a sleek modern style lavishly built with high end materials envelop you with luxury. At the end of the day, you can retreat to the balcony of your own private Jacuzzi. Relax with a glass of wine and the mesmerizing sound of ocean waves dancing on the shore.

Cancun is beautiful and those pictures prove that. I wish I was there right now instead of over cast Seattle
