In a town where classic designs never go out of style... this 50's desert modern home is still a rock-star! Purchased in 1956 by Paul and Katharine Mavis, who owned an automobile/trucking business in LA, the 3,300-square foot property was designed by Cody for steel and aluminum tycoon Earl M. Jorgenson. Living in Los Angeles, Paul and Katharine were friends of composer Hoagy Carmichael, who owned a home just a couple of doors down from the Jorgenson house. It was also a Cody design.
Recently, the kitchen and carport served as backdrops for a Justin Timberlake photo spread in the July issue of Vanity Fair. The home was a top choice for the producers of "Oceans Eleven". Katherine initially agreed to let them use the home, but then changed her mind.
The home has been kept in pristine and original condition including furniture and decor. Cody's design incorporated
ed large expanses of glass, polished terrazzo floors and stone block walls, with pecky cedar walls to warm the interior.

In the living room, halls and bedrooms, large expanses of windows or sliding glass doors let in light and the deep green of the 9th and 18th fairways of the golf course.
The house has served as the family's desert retreat, where Paul and Katharine entertained famous neighbors like Lucille Ball, Gerald and Betty Ford, and Dinah Shore. Katharine, now 96 has'nt been to the house in several years, but the family has kept it the way she remembers.

“Since turning 30 in January, Justin Timberlake has been kicking back, trying to make sense of his wild two-decade ride from the Mickey Mouse Club to music and movie stardom.” -Vanity Fair
