Photography | Bird of Prey or American Symbol of Strength
I absolutely love the picture below and if you follow Williams blog you will come to know very quickly that all of his photographs are special. I also like his message about the Eagle and I wanted to re-blog so others who might have missed the blog the first time around might read it now. Send all comments to William.. please..
A symbol of Strength !
Benjamin Franklin disapproved of the Eagle as our nation's symbol of strength. He said once that the eagle was a bird with bad moral character. Thieving and lording of others without regard.
Today, there are factions in the world that might agree with old Ben. But they would be wise to consider all the reasons that the supportors of choosing the Eagle had in their characterizations of this bird and successfully selected it as our nations symbol.
The Eagle represents the boundless spirit of freedom. He represents strength. Is fiercely loyal and mates for life. He is strong and determined and relentless in his quests, he is fearless and will protect to his death. The Eagle is powerful and strong of will and character. The Eagle is not easily defeated. The Eagles does not live in isolation. All excellent reasons why this majestic bird was selected and remains the symbol of strength and Freedom.
If all that weren't enough, consider this. The Bald Eagle is a "white headed sea eagle". Our country is bounded by two oceans and this native bird is found on both coasts. The Bald Eagle can actually swim using it's wings as paddles.
