Ever hear of the Poor Man who won the Lottery?

Services for Real Estate Pros with Auto & Home & Life Insurance throughout North Carolina

Good Evening,

I was originally going to title this post "Silent Saturday" and let the picture do the talking.  But me being the verbose and anti-parsimonious bastard that I am, that obviously can't happen.  Instead, I came away from tonight's inspiration for words with a deeper understanding of our current economic woes.

It is not unsavory practices in spending that have gotten our collective bank accounts in a bunch.  It isn't even the daily dose of which Political Party is in Power.  Nope, there's a simpler version to the truth of it all.  Remember Fred Savage in "The Wonder Years"?  I do.  I also recall the episode where Ben Stein played his teacher and said something to the affect of, "Every question contains its own answer."

And the following picture contains it:

Before going into the Luxury Condominium Business, maybe a stint in the Porta Potty Biz would have been the more natural thing to do.  Life is one step at a time.  Getting Rich Quick, even if you actually do it, probably results in long-term failure.

Just the condo office alone would have made me go the other way.  Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Jason.  Have a great weekend!!

Getting rich quick usually means getting poor again quick.  It is a simple truth.

Rich quick? Do I sense the relaunching of the cabbage patch doll or the pet rock?

Pretty funny.  This photo is almost like an oxymoron.  Kind of like a joke.

Starting at the bottom would have been a better thing to do here that is for sure, there is money to be made in the porta potty business, shoveling crap can be profitable.  There is no get rich quick scheme in life that works, I agree.

That picture is great.  I guess the luxury business is not doing very well.  Maybe luxury sales were not  a good idea.

Good post Jason.  Unfortunately, the picture isn't showing up on my computer.  Maybe I need to restart?

Also, thanks so much for leaving a comment on my blog.  Unfortunately, the photo wasn't showing and then blog got deleted so I had to re-enter it -- and of course all of the comments were deleted too.  Anyways, I re-entered it and I think, if AR is working correctly now, the picture should be up with the poem.  http://activerain.com/blogsview/2393400/an-angel-brushed-her-wings-to-my-face

It would be an interesting study to really find out how many big time lottery winners are still wealthy after ten years.

Jason ~ very interesting photo and story.  I have heard many lottery winners end up loosing it all.  They just go wild with spending.

You are hired, Endre!

Joey - This one just totally came unexpected.  Too priceless not to share.

Dawn - Wise comes in all forms, including the handling off dead Presidents.

Carla - In most cases, you are probably correct.

Ted - I'm sure the study exists.  I know of a few programs that have been televised chronicling such a thing.  Personally, I bought a scratch-off lottery ticket last week for the first time in many years, just cause.  I don't gamble or play the lottery very often at all.  Won a free ticket.  And that free ticket won me ... another reason to go to work:)

Roberta - I recall that blog.  Very nicely articulated.  I will check it out once again.

Evelyn - Having a office like that in a location like that wasn't a good idea if luxury homes is/was your product.  That's IMHO.

Navona - I made $20.00 in cash once as the shovel carrier behind a horse in a parade.  A witty woman watching said to me, "Dirty job, but somebody has to do it."  I retorted, "It could be worse.  I could be in charge of helping you make babies for a living."

Rob - I thought the same thing.

Patricia - Thank you:)

Neal - I'm kind of smelling a porta potty evolution ...

Colleen - You can have it:)

Gwen -  So I hear ...

Tim - I don't disagree.

Cooper - I concur.  Even when I lived in an attic with no cool in the summer and no heat in the winter, I would not be tempted by that Marketing Brain Fart.

Saramana - Funny, that's the print on my undergarments.

Katerina - Interesting point and probably holds a lot of truth.  Mentality & Psychology have a lot to do with not only earning money ... but keeping it and building it.  Sounds like a good course to teach young folks.  Rich Dad, Poor Dad comes to mind.

I forget who did the study, but if you took all the coutry's wealth and redistributedAlternative Compensation, Ala Carte Real Estate, Rebating it equally with 20 years it would end up in the hands of the folks you originally took it from.

In addition, your picture reminded me of a certain 2 Story condo that our Government sells...

Glenn - While I know it is such a small piece of the pie and would not solve the debt issues we face, why have we not heard one Politician (to my knowledge) say they would take a cut in pay/benefits/whatever?  That would solve nothing but the perception would be mighty different if one guy or gal came out and said.

And your picture reminds me of the Employee Recommendation Box, located right above the trash can.  Strategic?  You are damn right ;)

Look into the government of Panama under the new president.  See if you can you-tube or get a hold of his acceptance speach, its a perfect way to run a government.
