I do not understayd why EVERYONE does not have a GMAIL account...if only for the EASY sign in, ease of sending and storing attachments or their FANTASTIC SPAM system.

Google-ized!! Drank the Google Juice! I Am a Card Carrying Member Now!

Google +Oh, how I resisted the gmail at first. Then I used it and liked it. Oh, how I resisted Buzz (remember that one?). And then felt vindicated when the real buzz was that there was a huge public outcry on privacy issues.

Nope, did not want to try Google’s calendar- after all I have Outlook. But then I did try it  when I found out it will email me and pop up when I need to be reminded.

I did not want to use Google docs. Why should I? I have Word. But then I found out, it could be used to write the blogs for AR and it already has a word counter already built in ~ you need this because blogs designed for SEO should be at least 200-500 words, according to AR University.~  And Word is not a good tool to use for AR blogs since it brings a lot of hidden formatting with it that can distort  some blogs. At least that is my understanding from what I have gleaned on the site. Mozilla is fine for AR blogs, but lately it is taking longer and longer to load because of the draft posts I have there.

I recently went on a Facebook bender, getting a fan page, getting my 25 people, getting a name, getting the finger up, I mean the thumbs up on my blog, getting syndication between my blog and facebook. This took me a long time as I am not one that has the patience to wait very long. But still I am not happy with Facebook. The gurus say that you need a good landing page (I don’t have one), don’t go on and on about real estate with your friends. But some of my friends there need real estate advice and not all of them go to the fan page. And so what happens with the fan page? Some of my friends are friended because of real estate, but then I have to watch their friends cavort around incessantly.

Who needs a Google Profile? I have so many out there, I wouldn’t be surprised to find one on America’s Most Wanted. However, a Google profile has been recommended on AR and you need one to participate in the new Google +.

The early feedback about Google + is very good. The “circles” idea is more intuitive with regard to normal social behavior. You have friends, and you have family, and coworkers, clients, and acquaintances. Not everyone needs to see all things, all the time. We will see how that evolves.

Now I have to figure out how to get that silly +1 where it needs to go. Always something!

Oh and please read J.Philip Faranda’s post on 7 things you can do on Google + that you can't do on Facebook.

In the meantime, I have JOINED. I even got Google Voice. So Google owns me pretty much lock, stock and barrel. I drank the “juice,” am a card carrying member. I have been Google-ized!

Wallace, I love my gmail account.  The SPAM catcher seems to catch just about everything.  And I love the search email feature.  If you save lots of your emails... and you then want to retrieve a certain one... but cannot remember which one it is... you can do a "search email" for a word, a buyer's name, or whatever, and the gmail search will actually search the content of the emails... to find what you need.  It's great.

I'm a Google Girl....I tried Outlook and it got complicated and I want to be able to search and update.

I keep my "contacts" in my Palm desktop and export via vCard to my Google contacts that syncs with my PHONE and my tablet....EASY!

Wallace - I like the Google spam filter.  For me, most of the spam it catches it real spam.  Very little e-mail finds its way into the spam filter that should not be there.

Wallace, I used to use Outlook, but switching over to Gmail was the best got rid of all the SPAM I used to get! Now I rarely get spam and when I do, it's easy to click the "Report Spam" button and Google will even unsubscribe for you.
