Today we want to introduce a Great Saanich Heritage Walking Tour along Tyndall and Torquay in Gordon Head.
Heritage Walking Tours offer new and longterm residents as well as visitors a totally different perspective of the neighbourhood that you may have lived in for years, or are just learning to appreciate for the first time.
This type of walking tours allows you to combine a little walking with a little light history lesson stimulating both the mind and the muscles at the same time...... This Self Guided Heritage Tour will take you along a number of historical location and points of 
interest starting from Tyndall Park along Tyndall Rd., Leabrook Pl. Skylark, Ferndale, Barrie, Torquay, Tiffin Pl and back to the Tyndall Park parking lot.
Along the way you will see the homes and properties of people that shaped and formed much of the history and current lay out of what we now know as Gordon Head, Saanich.
To guide you along the way of this excellent Heritage Walking Tour, The district of Saanich has created a handy free Heritage Walking Tour Map for the Tyndall and Torquay Walk, that you can download from this site
The walking tour map offers the locations and stories about the homes, locations and history as you walk along this very enjoyable walking tour. Some of the stories, would today make for a a great television series, and we do not want to give away all the secrets of the area......It is safe to say that the area has had many very interesting residents over its long and well documented history.....
