90 Agents vs 200K Population....Why Can't We Share?

I wrote awhile back about how we need to go "Back To The Basics" with our Real Estate Presentations and general focus on our clients.  I think we tend to overlook the small things that really make a difference when our business goes crazy.  In some sort of way, we lose touch with the relationships we strive so hard to build.  We tend to focus on the here and now, and not the who or why of what made us arrive at our destintation we are currently at.

I had a great opportunity to re-evlauate my real estate practices most recently.  Perhaps it was the five year mark in real estate career, or wondering "HOW" was I going to move up to the next level.  I was hit pretty hard when another real estate company became very attractive in it's values and systems.  I questioned with great intensity and heart-ache as to why my real estate company was not giving me what I was seeking.    This other company shared ideas, and helped each other with the "Basic Tools" to be a successful realtor.  I as many have been very successful, but I was missing something.  SHARING IDEAS.  If our seasoned agents shared some ideas that help make them successful, wouldn't our individual companies thrive?  Wouldn't we go home feeling better about ourselves?

If we took the time to share a little with our offices, and stop thinking about others stealing our ideas, our world of real estate would be so much stronger.  Wouldn't we all be more successful and better Realtors?

The difference betwwen the productive and unproductive is not in ideas but in the follow through on those ideas.

we think sharing is always better. we encourage others to use out main blog, to come to our seminars. sometimes the high road is hard to take, and sometimes we fall off it, but we can always jump back on anytime we like. kinda cool, that, huh?

Kimberly, True professionals always share as we want other professionals to be successful in their profession. There are many great people that entered the Real Estate profession in recent years as the market was picking up steam. Unfortunately many also entered our profession thinking it is easy money, without any concern for clients and or customers. Many of the easy money people were/are able to mask their true motives. It will all come out in the wash. Best of Luck to you!

Kimberly,

I'm fortunate to work in a very caring office and it sure makes a difference in the daily grind.  I enjoyed your post.

I always try to share with some of the new agents if they are working hard and need some help. It is not a universal effort in our office. Some could care less. I learn more by helping and getting ideas from some of the young eager agents with ideas. Thinking about them and making them work are two different things.

We live in the day and age of the self.  Few can see the reward that comes from helping someone out and most are willing to trample you underfoot to beat you to the punch.  I do how ever agree, we should give others our help and if we did we may find that everyone profits from the move.
