What I would like to see and experience as soon as possible which is long overdue, is retailers, servicers, public institutions and the like start dealing with and treating the customer/consumer first and do away with catchy slogans and clever marketing campaigns. The rule that people buy from people first and then whatever they are selling after that holds....
TALK TO ME
I don't like being put on hold, or when someone who is trying to help me is trying to help someone else too at the same time. I don't like robo message centers where the machine is trying to connect with a live person. I also don't care for people who read script to you when we are speaking either
PRISONER TO YOUR TACTICS
Then there is the company that wants to greet everyone with a really, long fancy slogan and they make their employees answer the phone all day long saying it while the caller has to endure it. It goes like this....
INTRODUCTION
Good morning and thanks for calling the premiere center where all your needs are met and we care because today we have a special and this is so and so speaking how can I help you make this a great day and may I tell you about a deal that will save you lots of money....? My response: I am sorry you have to go through all that all day long. Please bring that up in your next manager meeting and if you really want to help me, start with getting rid of that line. I dread having to call back for any reason
TALK TO ME and add "REAL" TO IT
Whatever happened to genuine interaction where why we are speaking is the cause and we focus on that? I call you with a need and you answer and then I go into why I called and you respond. Make that better, faster and more streamlined and we all would benefit.
IF YOU DON'T GET IT...YOU SOON WILL
It is amazing that as consumers in today's marketplace, where if you get mistreated or run around, that businesses don't know that we can post or blog about the experience and have our real and final say. The opposite is true too. When I get what I want or what is represented, I can comment and assist that entity to continue by supporting it.
People first...always and for ever...who ever said otherwise?
