Short Sale Seller Has Hired A Cleaning Crew
This is an unusual tale of a foreclosed seller who go out of her home "in style". Her lack of bitterness about the whole foreclosure process is astounding and inspiring!
Just when you thought you had seen everything! I have this client, who I have listed as a short sale, however, she just received her notice of Trustee's Sale, so she only has 21 days before she is no longer the owner.
I went over to visit her this morning, and she has already secured a house to rent, has her place pretty much packed up, and is going to start moving tomorrow. She has lived in this house for 20 years, so she wasn't one of the buyers from 5 years ago who is upside down. Although, she IS upside down because she refinanced 5 years ago to pay medical bills from her dying brother.
The place looks like any house would look with boxes all over the place, pictures off the walls, etc. So, my seller says to me, "Shall I have painters come in and patch up where I removed pictures?" and then she proceeds to tell me that once she is out, a cleaning lady is coming to spruce up the place. She doesn't want the bank to have to bring in cleaning crews and trash-out crews, and should the house actually SELL at auction, she doesn't think it's right for the new owner to have to walk into a mess.
WOW!!!! I was flabergasted! I know there are good people out there, but in the current market, this is one of the exceptions. Most people who are walking away and losing their home to foreclosure will give the bank a run for their money, as far as leaving the house in the worst condition possible.
And, she is leaving all the fixtures, ceiling fans, appliances, etc. instead of ripping them out. She even gave me the garage door openers, extra keys, and all the appliance manuals.
This lady is going out with style, in my book.
