Lighten Up! And Have a Great Weekend!
The mortgage world can be pretty sobering - so, I thought I would share this GREAT blog with the instructions to "LIGHTEN UP! AND HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!" Thought it would be good to share this Friday a.m.!
Some days I just want to say, "Lighten up!" when meeting some people. Life can be stressful. So, if you haven't learned the fine art of laughter you're doing yourself a great disservice. I once had a lady accuse me of never being serious, but I explained to her that I ascribe the philosophy of the world renowned philosopher Tennesse Ernie Ford who once said, "It's not so important to be serious as it is to be serious about important things." That pretty well describes my life.
Nearly everyday I run into a humorous situation. I really appreciate it because I like to laugh, and there are a of funny people out there. Today, I got a haircut. When I went in the stylist said, "What do you want?" I said, "Make me beautiful" to which she replied, "I only have four hours left." Ouch! That's not as bad as Phyllis Diller though. She spend 7 hours in a salon one day, and that was just for an estimate. Anyway, she did her best, but I told her it was OK because it's like trying make fuzz on a pumpkin look good. What can you do?
I do find that people are so busy and caught up in their lives that they really need a break and a moment to laugh. Recently, I was in the local Costco picking up a prescription. The young lady behind the counter was very harried and frazzled. I teased her a little, but she was so distracted that she missed most of my great one-liners. But, when I was about to leave she said, "So, sorry about your wait." I replied, "Me too, but I'm really trying to lose a few pounds." She started to walk away, and then my response hit her. She burst into laughter and turned and said, "Thank you!"
So, folks, my advice for a Manic Monday, a Traumatic Tuesday, a Worn-out Wednesday, a Tense Thursday or a Frazzled Friday is "Lighten Up!" and laugh. You'll feel better. Your face will appreciate the exercise, your friends will think you're up to something and best of all you'll be ready for a Sane Saturday and finally a little Solitude Sunday. Laughter makes the whole week better.
