The life cycle is a continuation of bright lights and shadows. May you always have the strength to live with courage when you pass through the shadows. To get through the rough patches, you have to experience a little of both, light and shadow to bring everything to a happy and successful conclusion. However, not all conclusions are meant to be happy and we can't always get what we want. They are what they are...
Why? Because sometimes, it's not about us, but about other people. That's why we should not take things personally. All people must go through the shadows to experience the light and life is not just about you.
One can not appreciate the bright light if there were no shadows.
"In the beginning, when God created the Heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless, wasteland, and darkness covered the abyss, while a mighty wind swept over the waters. Then God said, Let there be light, and there was light. (Gn. 1:1-3)
Shadows bring about reflection, a form of self-awareness, self-knowledge and growth. A memory is a part of life, an event that happened, something that couldn't be avoided. A shadow can change your attitude for better or worse. Look to the bright side - focus on the good. We were not meant to be stuck in the shadows. Shadows are only temporary, a stopping point, an opportunity to learn and gain new insights.
Light passes and there is sweetness, growth and opportunity. Light gives us clarity and meaning. As you pass through the shadows, something awakens in you, a transcendence of power and strength. Know that the shadow was a necessary source of growth. Coming face-to-face with the shadow expedites the light. A shadow is a narrow door one must pass through to get to the light. Getting through to the other side is worth it and if you believe in yourself, you can reach the light, you can own it, it's within your grasp, and it's worth it to pass through it. All people, family, friends and enemies experience both the shadows and the light, everyone is accountable and passes through narrow slits of light. Just as a baby cries when they are born after they pass through the birth canal, so does everyone have challenges throughout life. To not embrace the shadows to get to the light is a crying shame.
