"A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway - Always an Adventure" is a new video released by the Friends of A1A.
Come experience why Highway A1A in St. Johns & Flagler Counties was selected as a National Scenic Byway. Not only a great place to visit, but an even better place to live! A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway, called Scenic & Historic A1A in St. Johns County, is just one of many reasons to move to Florida.
As the President of A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway when the three videos were produced, I am proud that I was an active participant in the production of these videos. The longer version we plan to market nationally to the Discovery Channel, Travel Channel and similar venues. A shorter version was made for YouTube and is shown below. The shortest version (30 seconds) will be used for media advertising.
We are so appreciative that Wayne Sims, a well-known St. Augustine storyteller and radio personality, agreed to be our narrator. I met Mr. Sims years ago when he was the Public Affairs Director for the City of St. Augustine and I was the publisher for Travelhost of the First Coast. He was instrumental in bringing the Nights of Lights to St. Augustine. When we were looking for a narrator, I knew the perfect person and quickly recommend Mr. Sims. I was delighted when he accepted.
Sam Pacetti is a national treasure in my opinion and we are so fortunate have him as a St. Augustine native. I first met Mr. Pacetti years ago in the Milltop Tavern in St. Augustine where he performed his magic on the acoustic guitar every Monday evening and was very impressed with this young man. Gamble Rogers was his mentor. Mr. Pacetti is a composer and songwriter, too. He is one of the best, if not best, fingerstyle guitarists in the world. And he proudly agreed to provide the music for our videos! I was blown away by his and Mr. Sims' generosity. They both gave freely of their time and expertise. I love St. Augustine!
I hope you take the time to view the video below, read the links above, and check out Sam Pacetti and his music. You'll thank me later.
