Sunday Photo-Cat Tails.... Everywhere!!!

The trail that I walk my 4 miles on almost everyday is mostly lined with honeysuckels, which makes the smell in the air incredible! There are other parts that have Cat tails.. Lots and lots of cat tails..There is a lot of landscaping on the trail, which is a nicely paved sidewalk, but this is a picture of some of the cat tails from the walking that kicks my butt everyday!!! :)

Stacey, That's a beautiful photo of the Cat Tails.  I commend you for walking 4 miles nearly every day. It certainly sounds like the trail you walk is an amazing trail ... even if the Cat Tails do kick your butt!

Those look like some of the ornamental grasses we have in our yard called red fountain grass!  I always thought cattails grew in water??  Hmmm.  ??  Kathy

Stacey - Love the colors that come through in that photo.  Very unusual effect!  Do you think they are cattails or members of the cattail family?  I thought cattails usually had the appearance of the picture below.

Hello Stacey and I really like the photo, are those really Cat Tails? There are Cat Tails that grew in the Midwest in the swamps and they are tall, stand up vertical and are a hard dark brown in color. It could very well be that there are several types of Cat Tails ...

VB ;o)

I thought it may be Pampas Grass.  And I found this variety of Pampas that looks similar to your's.  But you're right. . .Cattails look like hot dog plants.
