You are my Sunshine . . .

After a long battle with cancer, my Mother passed away on Sunday. As sad as that makes me, I am still able to count my Blessings because of Gods Grace and the love of three very special children who make my heart sing. My Grandchildren. And they are truly Grand. My Grandson, Stirling Anthony, 15 years old and a young man I am not only proud of, but honored to know. My Granddaughter, Rachel Ellice, who has a heart so big the world cannot contain it. My Granddaughter, Zoe Grace, who cuts to the chase and always tells it like it is. I am so Blessed to not only know them, but to be their MiMi.

These children are my Sunshine and I am beyond Blessed . . .

You do know our hearts go out to you. It's hard to lose a loved one, especially a beloved Mother, even if you tried to prepare, there really is no preparing for such a loss. So sorry to hear this Tish. My boyfriend is battling Colon Cancer right now. His prognosis is very good at this point. We've got to find a cure for this deadly disease!

Dear Tish, I'm so sorry for your loss. I think it's interesting that you (as most of us do) turn to the next generation for comfort in the loss of your mother. When my mother died I was only 27 and Meredith and Amy were four and seven. I couldn't wait to wrap my arms around them to draw the strength I needed to get through the grief.

By the way. You'll always miss her but it does get more manageable. God bless you dear friend.
