I am sure kids are looking forward to going back to school. Around here they re-open after labor day.

I hated hearing about back to school during the summer when I was a kid.  I was OK when school started but I loved summer, so much more freedom.

My grandson starts back on August 10th. Not sure when I started backa s a kid but I know it was hot...No AC until I was in the 10th grade - at home either.

When I was real young we never went back before Labor Day but that changed at some point.  I know going to school before Labor Day was common when I was in high school...  My 4th grade class we were over crowded so we were in "relocatable" classrooms with AC, bathrooms right in the back of the classroom.  It was a trailer but it was new and nice and cool.  NO AC in the other grade schools I attended.  My middle school was modern, air conditioned.  Then two years in an old school... then a year and a half in a brand new school with no windows so we definitely had AC.

Florida?  Hot!
