Hello, and a great big "Uber" welcome

Hello, and a great big "Uber" welcome. I have moved back to the Gulf Coast after spending 23 years in the Washington, DC area. As the Executive Chef for the Motion Picture Association of America, I had many wonderful experiences. Not only did I meet movie stars, Senators, Congressman and Supreme Court Justices, but also I worked with some truly wonderful people.

So you might be asking why I have switched careers to real estate? Well simply stated, I love real estate. I love how it can change your life owning, as opposed to renting, your home. My wife and I enjoyed renovating and building equity in the properties that we purchased. In turn, I always tried to assist and encourage the people who worked with me to buy their own homes. A person will spend 25 to 40% of their income on shelter. If you rent property, you will be gaining tax breaks and building equity for your landlord instead of for yourself. When you own real estate it gives you more credibility in many aspects of your life. I would call it "street cred". The difference when you check the "own" box vs the "rent" box on an application, means a lot. Another thing I love is a good deal. I don't even care if it is for me. I just love a good deal. There is so much satisfaction hunting down the perfect property for someone and getting it for just the right price.

"Discount brokers" are frowned upon in the BIG real estate world. However, I want to offer better service at a great price, and do more for the interest of my clients than one of the brand name companies will. Most agents spend 50 to 80% of their time looking for new listings and new customers. I would rather spend my time closing great deals for Uber's customers.
