Don't Change Your Email address!

Dan Edward Phillips, Broker/Owner, Eureka, CA provides us a great piece of advice regarding email addresses. It is very important that Realtors pay attention to this advice. Do not change your email address.. Please stop by Dan's blog and leave him a comment

Last Friday evening, having dinner out with my wife, I received an email on my Blackberry from a client that had purchased property through me many years ago.

After all those years he still had my email address and I had not changed it.

He had moved several times and he had changed his email address each time he moved. I had lost tract of him due to the changes.

The moral; don't change your email address! When you enter the real estate business, buy a domain and an email address and keep it. If your brokerage insists that you use their email address, have the email forwarded to your permanent email address.

I've had the same AOL e-mail for over a decade. It HAS made it EASIER to be found and for past clients and residents. I have secondary e-mails for YAHOO and GMAIL so those are also easier to maintain now.....being found via e-mail is a GREAT way to REconnect.
