I just read the new Realtors Magazine and their annual report on franchises. a few years ago my business partner and I were looking to move our team and we were analising if we should move to another company, open our own or buy a franchise.
We have always referred to our team as a the TREE, we moved from our original company to another one because we needed a bigger pot to let our tree grow, then in 2007 the pot was getting too small and the franchise overhead too low to let our tree grow, so we decided to start our own company so the tree will have more room to grow.
It is interesting to see that most franchises are downsizing, one company loss half o its offices, and only one company grew in the past 12 months. I know the market is tough, and agents are dropping. It makes me think that we made the best decission and stay independant small brokerage.
I understand the importance of the well stablished national brand, but at the end my clients and the agents who know me do business with me because of me not my brand.
The tree that we call Central Realty is growing, we keep increasing agents and business. and soon it will get new branches.
