The rose is a gift I give myself. It grows in my garden. I planted it with my own two hands and it continues to grow, without fail since 1998. I planted the rose with love and it gives love back to me. I love cut flowers from the Flower Shop; but why buy them cut, when you can have the bush? I clipped this rose and placed it next to my dishwasher to get a dark background and this is what I got. At first, I wanted to get rid of the mirrored shadow effect on top but then I decided I liked it there because the rose in front is the real thing and the shadow of the rose resembles a halo and for me, that's Heavenly!
A rose gives me hope. It's a lovely thing to see and it is great to have a home where I can plant flowers in my garden. A garden brings forth love and it's a mutual commitment. I plant; it gives back to me beautiful flowers that I can enjoy for many years to come. People say, why don't you rent? I say, because then I wouldn't be able to plant roses in my garden! I need a rose garden and other flowers to go with my house.
Having a home with a garden to tend to gives me hope, especially in winter. I look forward to the day my dormant plants come back to life, and most of them do. I appreciate the flowers in my garden that have come up, year after year, without fail. This pink rose came from the first rose bush I planted after I bought my home. It has survived many Texas droughts and cold winters. It is strong! Isn't it lovely? I am grateful that it never ceases to disappoint me. For years, I was afraid to clip a rose, for fear I was doing it some harm; however, what I discovered, is the more I clip, the more I get back!
My roses teach me things about tender loving care in the garden. It teaches me patience. It gives me hope and it makes me feel happy! If I could change the world, I would ask everyone to buy their own home and plant a garden. Design your garden to have many different plants, flowers and trees; however, I recommend you plant a rose bush. The type of love you get from your garden, does not disappoint you! For thousands of years, the rose represented love. It's the one thing in my life that stays constant. The rose bush was planted with my own two hands. I trust it to grow and bring forth goodness. It was created with love and devotion and a belief that it would give me joy for life. Even though life does not guarantee joy and happiness, I'm rewarded by the fruits of my labor and I accept its outcome. What my rose bush produces are lovely roses that seems to bloom at times when I need a lift the most. In a way, it's a spiritual journey for the plant and the homeowner and that is why I think the halo effect is just perfect!
Have a great and wonderful day and always remember to stop and smell the roses!
