Sometimes, our Sellers...be they Short Sale or "traditional" sellers, for a variety of reasons are stressed to the point that making one more arrangement, change, alteration of schedule, etc. is just too much. The whole process of listing and selling can become overwhelming when there are different work, sleep, school schedules and add to the mix, that pets who are usually free to call the house "their own" are not as welcome to do that with buyers, viewed as strange intruders coming to visit.
We recently had a situation where work schedules, baby sitters and the family dog could not come together at a time that worked for the buyers and their families to schedule a second showing. The dog could not be trusted during a showing...it is too warm (that really does happen in Wisconsin) to have the dog outside for a prolonged period of time and so there was only one thing left to do. Cosmo and Magic (our own feline children) are not fond of other 4 legged visitors, so taking the dog to our house was not an option.
Doggy daycare to the rescue.....and "Fido" got a little vacation...playtime with other dogs...attention he loved. A small daycare charge was the least we could do for someone working as many hours as they can to keep their financial head above water and work with us and prospective buyers as well.
You may have the opportunity to pay it forward...maybe a walk with the pet will work...a trip to the Park...whatever it takes to help make the transition from "active" to "active with offer" status is a goal we should all have for our Sellers.
If you know someone ...coming to...or going from...southeastern Wisconsin...whether it may be a short sale or a traditional sale....Buying or Selling...Call the Hansons...prompt professional service and proven results are what you can expect....and deserve.
Thank you for the tip. I will remember it next time I am in a similar situation.
Good tip, Sally & David. I like doing the "little extras" that make our firm stand out. Obviously, you can't go broke paying for everything, but a tidbit here or there won't usually break the bank. And generally, the results will make you smile!
Dog day care is the answer for lots of things. My little guy loves the interaction with all his spa buddies and @ $10 for several hours you can't beat it!
Dogs love it...,homeowners need it...and the cost is very reasonable....what a great combination !
Nice touch to help out a client. I have a client with a similar situation right now, but the dog is too big and doesn't care for strangers so it wouldn't work too well.
I leave tomorrow morning for my annual 3 day vacation! Our dog goes to the day care center today for her annual 3 day stay! While it is fun for a while, she really likes coming home!
Like all vacations...home is best Jay..I hear you Ed...Bigger is harder...less friendly...yicks !
That was so nice Sally and David! As a fellow dog lover I appreciate you being so considerate to the heat and pets! I'm sure your clients were very pleased.
OMG, As if I needed another reason to like you guys, you hit right at my heart strings with this one...bless you
Sally & David- if the pup looked anything like the one in the photo you posted I'd be a goner. Look at that face! Great deed you guys did for these people. Pets, unfortunately, can't remove themselves from a busy situation so it was super nice of you to help them out with their dog.
That really is a great idea. We need to be supportive of our clients and their 'children'.
