Have a Drink -

But make it water.

Unless you are a -

cactus Or a -   camel

With much of the country experiencing above average temperatures now is the time to starting drinking water with deliberation.  Many of us spend a great deal of time outdoors but even moving from one air conditioned location to another can take its toll when temperatures soar. Mild dehydration can keep you from being as sharp as you normally are and a bad case of dehydration can make you sick. Keep a bottle of water handy and drink when you feel thirsty.

From now on I solemnly promise to follow my own advice because I am not a cactus or a camel.

Karen - I hear the midwest/east coast is having ridiculously hot weather - good reminder for all!  We're used to it out here in Phoenix....  ;)

We should all drink plenty of water regardless of the weather. The 8 glasses of water a day rule is great but it's hard sometimes to drink all of that water especially if you don;t carry a bottle with you. 8 glasses also comes out to be around half a gallon based on an 8oz. glass. Yikes!
