With the influx of home staging shows on television most people are becoming aware of what home staging is, but the phrase Redesign is still not as clear. What is Redesign?
Redesign is basically re-arranging and decorating a room or home using what the homeowner already has and adding a few finishing touches that add warmth and life to the space such as plants, pillows, small accessories and artwork.
Nearly every time we stage a home to sell the seller will say the same thing when we are finished- "Wow I didn't know my house could look this good, I wish I had done this earlier so I could have enjoyed the home this way".
Most people have good things, they just have them in the wrong places. When we stage a home we search the rest of the home for things that we can use to pull the room together and most of the time we find them being stored in another room not being used because the homeowner just never thought to put them together or could not figure out how to coordinate the items to make them work. We constantly surprise them when they see what they had just lying around.
What most homeowners don't realize is that home stagers offer Redesign services which would allow them to do that very thing and the cost is often the same as the staging services. Basically if the home owner would just pay for the redesign services of a professional to help them set up their new home when they move in to it, they could not only enjoy the full beauty of it themselves while they live there, but essentially it would already be staged when they are ready to sell, and may just need a "fluffing" by a home stager to get it polished and ready for the market.
