This is the Spooky Old Tree across the street from my driveway. This is the Spooky Old Tree with a whole family of Turkey Buzzards on Tuesday morning as I was pulling out of my driveway. I could only capture six of them in my photo, but, there were several more just roosting there. An omen?.....
That evening we had planned on a new Tilapia recipe that cooked under the broiler. Dear husband thought that I placed the broiler pan too close to the coils and decided to move it down a level. Well, I heard a bang and clatter and hubby calmly announced, "there goes dinner", followed by the "bad word" we never let our children hear us say. Sure enough, the bottom of my very hot oven was littered with buttery, parmesan tilapia. We salvaged what we could, finished broiling and ate it anyway. (It was good!) Could it have been due to the Birds???
The following evening, (after cleaning the oven), I was attempting another new recipe for a coconut pie. I made too much filling and while attempting to transfer it to a cookie sheet for baking, the foil pie pan tried to fold in half and I lost a good part of the filling to the countertop and the floor below. A baker, I am not. Again, the Birds came to mind.
This morning as Dear Husband and I were sipping our coffee and doing our respective internet searches, I heard the "bad word" again. Hubby had spilled his entire mug of coffee on himself, the recliner and the floor.
Karma? The Birds? What's coming next? I'm not sure I want to find out
