Be Effective in Business and in Life
One benefit of age is the wisdom it brings. That said, the following are some valuable lessons I’ve learned over the years:
Not making a decision is making one by default – make a decision and stand behind it.
You have a choice – to be a survivor or play the victim. Only you make yourself a victim….or you can use life’s challenges and obstacles to learn and grow.
Every choice up to this point plays a part in where you are today – stop blaming the world and look in the mirror...that is where you’ll find the answers.
If you’re not willing to step outside your comfort zone and change your circumstances, except your life situation and stop whining – nobody cares.
Remember – the definition of “insanity” is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.
Don’t look to the outside world to tell you how to feel about yourself – you determine your self-worth. What you do or don’t do determines your character and integrity.
Get out of your own way and do what it takes to reach your goals and bring a shovel – you will need it, but the payoff is always worth the effort.
Set goals and let nothing get it the way of reaching them– not people, obstacles or circumstances. Be a warrior and except nothing less than success and it will happen. Ask anyone who has achieved greatness.
Every failure holds encrypted wisdom and it’s your job to figure out what that is and change your course of action accordingly.
Be authentic. Find your strengths and work them to your advantage. Always maintain a path of bettering yourself mind, body and spirit. Never think you are too smart to learn, too old to exercise your mind and body, and pay attention to your thoughts – positive thinking lends itself to positive action.
