Fall finally came to West Chester. One day it is in the 90s and the next day it is in the 50s and 60s. It sure makes the 60s seem cool when it drops 30 degrees overnight. And we are finally getting some much needed rain. Last weekend was the perfect fall weather. The sun was shining and the temps were perfect. We trimmed some tree branches and raked up the yard and mulched some leaves and sticks. Now is the time to get your house ready for winter after the long hot summer. Fall is a great time to plant, especially bulbs. Mike McGroarty has a great website for gardeners at http://www.freeplants.com. He is trying to sell on his website but he has some great tips. And he has a very good enewsletter that he mails out occasionally. And once the leaves have all fallen, don't forget to clear the roof and gutters of all the leaves up there. We have found that since we had the Gutter Shutter Company install our new gutters several years ago this job is much easier and more quickly accomplished. There are many other companies installing leaf guards and gutter systems as well. So while the weather is still nice get outside and do some sprucing up. It will make spring a more beautiful thing.
